Lesson HC 1/07/1.1 • Aim of Learning: • To enable installer to set up a link form a blank or poorly setup link from a given load file • Reason for learning: • The Ericsson HC Link is a complicated OSPF router and requires extensive configuration of the routing and the monitor provisioning systems to function as required within a network. • Subject of this lesson: • This lesson details how to upload a configuration file to the Ericsson HC radio. The upload will erase all the settings currently in the MMU/ TRU and will cause a traffic outage. The upload of the text configuration file is the first method and preferred method of setting up the Ericsson HC radio. • There are site specific files available for each end of the link. The end NEAREST the router (NMS hub) is always considered to be the NEAR END, the other end is the FAR END, ALWAYS • File types: • There are two types of file you will have access to. • Site specific. This will contain all the settings required for the site with the exception of the RF setup (Power, Capacity, Protection and Frequency). The NMS IP addresses will be present as will the router specific configurations. This is the preferred upload. The file is obtainable form the NMS Design Website (http://203.14.20.80/3gnms - user & password = 3gnms) • Base configuration file. This is a file specific only to the NE or FE. It does not contain site specific information or RF setup information. This file is to be used in conjunction with the NMS instruction (as per above). The Installer must configure all site specific and router specific options. • Upon completion the files should be downloaded from the newly installed link and added to the library system for fault recovery by emailing the files to the site coordinator
Connect to Ericsson HC links R7A • Connect via the purpose written conduit. “GML Ericsson HC Serial Cable”. If you use the default Windows “Connect via Serial Cable” the results will be unpredictable.
Using Internet Explorer • (If you must use Microsoft Explorer ) • The correct version of MS Java
Using Mozilla Browsers (Firefox etc) • Using Mozilla simply works. There is no need to modify the Java client. All errors are well handled and all the interface views are visible. Missing interface views are a sign in MS IE that there is a problem with the installation of Java.
UPLOADING! • The uploaded configuration files must be in C:\Program Files\MINI-LINK Ptp High Capacity\output • The same location for uploading software packages
To Upload a configuration • Ericsson Minilink PTP Manager must be installed. • The required software packages need to be copied to the output directory. • Connect to the HC Radio using the Serial port dialup PPP session. • Connect to the default address 192.168.0.1 using your web browser. • A prompt will request credentials. • User = administrator • Password = administrator • Connect as administrator service ONLY
