Recommendations to date • MIF • stabilise, align with UML, support hash function for integrity-check • 2-step adoption approach • define subset for short-term tools adoption, adapt/test tools in short-term • plan for longer-term tools adoption (including conversion of V3 standard repository to MIF) • tools behaviour • carry forward MIF elements not recognised • carry some historical info on elements • manage co-existing MIF versions
Recommendations to date • Tools Architecture • consider differences between read-only design registry (ebXML/NIST) and working design repository and project management requirements (?CVS/SourceForge) • consider pros/cons of CVS as in current use with Java SIG + similar alternatives • common core set of code accessible by VB and Java
Tools Wish List • Automated difference reports on static models (MIF Diff tool) • NHS project – by November? • Stronger linkage between dynamic and static models • Allow different/filtered views of specs. • V3 profile registry (?NIST)
Tools Management Proposals (in development) • Set of V3 tooling requirements and 'strategic architecture' with desired timelines • Single, shared source-control system for all V3 tools accessible to all V3 tool developers • Principles, guidelines, policies for funding sources to engage in HL7 tools development
