This workshop focuses on introducing new approaches to crisis response and planning for the future. It includes co-design processes, prototype methodologies, testing in practice, and reflection workshops. The goal is to contribute to a wider evidence base for changing crisis response and support locally-led processes.

Reflecting on the week – planning for the future sclr is introducing some new approaches to how we respond to crises. From your perspective: • which are the most significant and interesting of these new ways of working which you might want to include in your pilots? ….or Reflection on the week – the emerging practice: strengths, weaknesses, uncertainties, priorities for testing (5m), Group work (15 mins), Plenary feedback and discussion (25m)
Planning the pilot • When? - Develop a broad time line • Where, and with whom? – identify townships, or camps or… • Starting the introductory meetings and palc process – who might be involved, how will you do it? • What size of micro-grants do you want to try and how much of your budget will you allocate for micro-grants? • What additional training might you be enabling – are you putting aside some budget for that? • Develop an approximate budget • Identify additional support needed • Agree on next steps

Adapting OD and relationships To maximise the chances for these new approaches to work, do you think any changes might be needed in: a) the internal management style and systems of your own organisation? b) the working relationship between DCA and local NGOs? c) the working relationship between local NGOs and communities?
Capturing the lessons from testing sclr approach in practice 1. Recording what was done (partner reports) 2. Did the pilots generate any of the anticipated benefits that were identified during the workshop)? If so how/why? If not, why? - And were there any additional advantages? 3. Did the pilots manage to overcome the anticipated challenges? If so how/why? If not, why? - and were there any additional problems? • What ideas for improving? • What can we learn about internal OD and relationships for sclr?
