Ultra Heavy-Lift Amphibious Craft (UHAC) NEO, Amphib Raids/Asslts FSCEX Force Integration Trng Ultra Heavy-lift Amphibious Connector (UHAC) Future Planning Week of 26 May: CNSP expects to have the final endorsement to operate the UHAC on RUS; they requested Naval Beach Group to review the ORM prior to them endorsing 29 May: PHIBRON and MCWL will hold a meeting onboard PEL to discuss UHAC SOM, mission execution and answer any final questions on ORM. • Execution • CNSP endorsement. Execute COA 1; operation of UHAC in a ship-to-shore movement (including cargo loading and unloading) • No CNSP endorsement. Execute COA 2; land to sea demo only Background UHAC is an Office of Naval Research (ONR) funded experimental surface connector The current vehicle that is planned to be operated during RIMPAC is a ½ scale concept demonstrator Intent of the demonstration is to embark on an LSD, retrieve equipment, and move back to shore Two (2) COAs were developed for UHAC employment as part of RIMAC 14: • COA 1: RUS well deck • COA 2: No shipboard OPS, land-to-sea demo only Issues / Concerns At FPC PHIBRON expressed concern with the ORM assessment that was provided by MCWL/Panama City SMEs • ORM was generic / underdeveloped • PHIBRON requested TYCOM endorsement to embark this craft in their well deck (24 Apr) PHIBRON SME forwarded an initial list of concerns for MCWL/Panama City to consider in conducting their more detailed analysis. (19 May) MCWL forwarded CNSP an updated ORM package developed by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division for their endorsement to embark the UHAC on RUS Mud Presenter: LCDR Taft
