  2. What is a jaguar? • Jaguars are the largest cat in the Americas. • They have claws, teeth, blunt snouts, and a flexible body. • Male jaguars weigh up to 120 to 200 pounds, but females weigh up to 80 to 100 pounds. A great picture of a jaguars face. I think someone is looking at me

  3. Where do jaguars live? • Jaguars live in a wet tropical forest with a river or a swamp. • They are found in much of South America and Central America. • Black jaguars are most common in the wet forests of Paraguay and Brazil. A picture of a jaguar in its habitat.

  4. What do jaguars look like? • A jaguar has spots that are called rosettes. • They have the typical cat looks. • Most jaguars are brown with darker spots but black jaguars are fairly common. A jaguars skin.

  5. What are their cubs like? • One litter will have one to four cubs. • They can be born at any time of the year. • They can be born near bushes, rocks, or trees. Cute baby cubs.

  6. What do jaguars eat? • They eat deer and large ground dwelling birds. • They also eat sea turtle eggs. • In Mexico, they eat peccaries (also known as the Musk Hog). A jaguar eating its prey.

  7. Who are their relatives? • Jaguars are related to A LOT of animals. • They are related to all cats. • They are closely related to the leopard. • They are related to all of these.
