  2. What is Emotional Intelligence? Emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to understand and manage your emotions of yourself as an individual. It also means that you can recognize and influence the emotions of those around you. The most important thing to be known is that this was the term coined in 1990 by researchers John Mayer and Peter Salovey. But the popularity of this word came after psychologist Daniel Goleman.
