African Masks • An important element in mask design is a bold, powerful pattern. • Geometric and symmetrical designs are favored. • Different designs can signify different meanings and connections. • Hairstyles are configured in a way to coordinate with the mask being worn.
Materials • Masks can be made from wood, dried mud, cloth, dried leaves, straw, paint, clay and feathers.
