Attendance Procedures • When you are absent you have three days to bring in a note indicating why you were absent. • Notes should be turned in to the attendance office and should have your home telephone number on them.
Losing Credit • 5 Unexcused absences will cause you to lose credit in the class. This means you will have to repeat the entire class regardless of your grade in the class. • At 3 Unexcused absences your teacher will mail home a warning and will notify you that you are in danger of losing credit. • Only you are ultimately responsible for knowing your attendance
Appealing a Loss of Credit • Don’t get a false sense of security that you will be able to successfully appeal a loss of credit. • If you have missed 5 days unexcused your credit will depend on your teacher’s discretion. • Teachers have the right to assign detention or make other arrangements to restore your credit.
Appealing a loss of credit • A loss of credit appeal should be presented to your teacher within 5 days of the day you lose credit. • Appealing during the last week of school will do you no good. • Remember if you lose credit in a course you are still required to attend the course until the end of the year.
Absences • Teachers will assign you detention or call home and notify your parents when you are absent without an excused note.
Tardy 3 Tardies are the equivalent of 1 unexcused absence. Teachers will assign detentions and notify your parents when you are tardy to class.
Remember: You don’t get very far in life if you only work on the days you feel great.
