IBM Systems Lab Services & Training - Power Systems Services for AIX, IBM i, and Linux on Power Systems http://www.ibm.com/systems/services/labservices/platforms/labservices_power.html Turbo LAMP JumpStart Overview: • The Turbo LAMP JumpStart offering is designed to help customers quickly establish an operational LAMP stackon hardware that they own or on hardware on loan from IBM or Business Partners . This operational stack could be utilized for educational activities , Linux On Power technology evaluation , business application porting, and new business application development (for example mobile enablement applications) . Turbo LAMP consists of licensed components of the traditional LAMP stack, ZEND* Server for PHP, MariaDB* for the database, and Ubuntu*as the Operating System. If desired, Mellanox* high speed, low latency networking, also part of Turbo LAMP, can be incorporated into the JumpStart. Ideal Candidates for this Jump Start and WHY ? • Clients who have receive injection servers - and are currently not using them • Clients who run LAMP stacks today on x86 and hare having performance issues and / or looking at a techniology refresh • Clients who want to establish a LoP development environment for the purpose of evaluating the this next generation technology. • Clients who have COD and want to export Power IFLs Objective • Leave a functional LAMP stack in customer's environment for continued evaluation and proof of concept work. Skills transfer and documentation will also be a goal. Duration • Five (3-5) days. NOTE: Pre-engagement tasks will assist the consultant in collecting the data needed to perform the engagement. Part 1 – Pre-engagement data collection Example Tasks • Decide on the hardware to be used • Discussion on the network environment, including deciding on the Mellanox 40G ethernet option • Discussion on which Turbo LAMP pieces are desired • Discussion of dev/test bed vs performance evaluation Part 2 – On-site configuration of Turbo LAMP Example Tasks • Plan for VM deployment in the customer environment • Install PowerKVM (if needed) and create the needed VMs for Turbo LAMP • Tune the VM XMLs for peformance (if needed) • Install Apache Web Server • Install MariaDB • Install ha_proxy (if using multiple ZEND Servers) • Install ZEND Server(s) • Install example application PHP on Zend (if desired) • Magento • Drupal • Wordpress • Joomla • phpbb Part 3 – Skills transfer Example Tasks • Ensure customer has basic understanding of managing KVM guests • Ensure customer has basic understanding of networking in a KVM environment • Ensure customer has basic understanding of MariaDB • Ensure customer has basic understanding of ZEND Server *additional services available from TurboLAMP partners; Zend, MariaDB and Canonical!
