Objective: • “To provide a high impact sign to reduce the risks associated with speeding traffic” • Make existing traffic calming more visible to road users
Details of the proposed signs:- • 4 flashing yellow conspicuity • indicators of 100mm diameter at the corners • A constant illuminated red circle • 600mm diameter • A constant white illuminated text • selectable to read “20”, 30” “40” • or “50” • “Slow Down” text height 130mm • displayed in yellow
Proposed Time Scales:- • Local Area Committee – 31 July 2009 • Contract Preparation – July to September 2009 • LLWR Sub Committee – 9 September 2009 • Final Contract Preparation - September 2009 • Sign 278 Agreement with Cumbria County Council – October 2009 • Place order for works – October 2009 • Start on site – November 2009 • Scheme complete – Mid December 2009
Additional Works:- • Repaint the “Dragons Teeth” on the existing speed humps • Repaint white box around existing speed humps
