WHAT TO EXPECT • Students will focus on the HOW/WHY/WHAT IF of history through document analysis of primary and secondary sources as well as engage in critical thinking and thorough class discussions. • Students will be asked to state their opinions (orally and in writing) about a historical situation, while providing cited evidence from analyzed sources which support their reasoning. • Students will see some really cool stuff! • GRADING • Assessments (Tests/Projects/Essays) = 80% • Classwork = 20% • Late assessments = 10%/day off • Classwork is not accepted late • How grades in my class are calculated: • Grading in my class is based upon a simple point system. Each classroom activity, homework assignment, quiz, test or project is worth a set number of points. Students receiving 90% of the points or better in a quarter, receive an “A” for that quarter. Students receiving 80-89.9% of the points will receive a “B” and students receiving 70-79.9% of the points will receive a “C,” and so on. • PLEASE CHECK GRADES ONLINE WEEKLY.
