  1. Summit Pointe Parent Curriculum Information 6th Grade

  2. Homework • In order to increase student accountability, 6th grade has the following late work policy: • All assignments are expected to be turned in on time • Students will lose 25% of the total grade for assignments turned in late (10% for projects) • Students who complete and turn in all HW for the week will receive responsibility recess on Friday. • Absentee Policy: • Students have one day for each day of absence to complete missed work. • If work is requested prior to an absence it is expected the day the student returns. • At times work will only be available upon return from an extended absence. • Parents will be needed to assist with material that was missed unfortunately due to time constraints.

  3. Homework 6th Grade Homework Policy To ensure a successful 6th grade year at Summit Pointe we have implemented a homework policy. Late, missing, or incomplete work will be documented by the teachers. After 4 late, missing, or incomplete assignments in all classes a student conference will be held with teachers to discuss homework and organizational strategies. If late work is a chronic issue parents will be contacted. Each quarter will be a fresh start for students not on success plans. Students with 3 or fewer late or incomplete assignments will receive a H.O.T. certificate.

  4. Grade Cards • Grade cards will come home after the completion of each quarter. • First Quarter: Receive at conferences • Second and Third Quarter: Cards will come home in envelopes to be signed and returned • Fourth Quarter: Cards will come home on the last day of school

  12. Work Habit Chart • Behaviors will be documented on a chart each day. • The chart will be taken to each class throughout the day, including music, art, P.E., lunch, and recess. • The chart supports the grades each child receives on the Social Skills section of their grade card.
