What is PLIB? • PLIB (Parts LIBraries):Series of standards under ISO 13584 • Purpose:Support the exchange of product data between business partners • E-procurement, Marketing, Exchange between technical subsystems (CAD) • Data model shared with IEC 61360 • Responsible committee: ISO TC184 SC4 WG2 Depuis WS Rome

Conclusions • Tremendous work is ongoing on defining PLIB product dictionaries • Industrial application in various countries have proven the concept of PLIB • Result of our work here in Hangzhou: • Dictionary of fastener (ISO 13584-511) will be out for publication as an International Standard early 2006 Depuis WS Rome
