  2. The Admission Process

  3. Today • We get to know you • You get to learn about Why Ohio State! • We receive approximately 1,200 applicants: interview approximately 450 applicants for 162 seats

  4. What comes next? • This year all interviews will be done by end of January • Some decisions will be made on a rolling basis • Offers will be made by end of February so you can know where you stand as you look at other schools

  5. Post-Interview Non-Admit Pending Admit

  6. After the interview • We may inform some interviewees (either way) early but no news is good news • Make sure you check your email and voicemail • If you are offered a seat and we do not receive a confirmation by April 15 we will offer your seat to another applicant. • NO applicant is required by any school to commit before April 15, 2016

  7. Everyone Finds their Place • Once the seats are offered there will be a period of musical chairs; there is a wait list! • Some applicants will receive offers to multiple schools and so as they withdraw we go to the next on the list • PLEASE LET US KNOW EITHER WAY • Some years we have not completed seating the class until the week before classes start

  8. What If You Don’t Get In? • Consider this an opportunity to become better prepared -We always offer denied applicants the chance to receive feedback on their application -Often those who understand their weaknesses and act upon them have success later -Some may never be ready so always have a Plan B

  9. Once You are Accepted • When you receive your offer and are sure you want to come to OSU, complete the acceptance form and pay the fee online. • In addition, mail back technical standards form • This will trigger a notice to create your OSU e-mail account • We do most of our communications through e-mail so make sure we don’t end up in your spam
