Causal Chain An expectation that all teachers can increase their expertise from year to year, which produces gains in student achievement from year to year-- with a powerful cumulative effect
DP Steps • Self-assessment (optional) • Select focus indicators (up to 3) • Develop action plan • Approval • Implement action plan • Track progress, reflect, edit action plan • Celebrate success!
Selecting Focus Indicators • Based on self-assessment/previous evaluation or in collaboration with evaluating administrator • Employee chooses 1, 2, or 3 strategies for DP • Subject to supervisor approval • No indicators are dropped in 2013-14 • Select start and end goal • Subject to supervisor approval • No growth = unsatisfactory
Evaluation Impact • Improve ratings in Domain 1 • Credit for growth in DP score • Positively impact ratings in Domain 2-4
