Use the internet to find a number of job advertisements and list: • What is being offered • The consideration • Write a job advertisement for ONE of the following: • Part-time mechanic • Full-time accountant • Casual sales assistant Activity

Previously under the Workplace Relations Amendments (WorkChoices) Act 2005 there were a number of categories of workers for determining wages and conditions. These included: • The safety net • Certified agreements (union and non-union) • Individual contracts (AWAs) • Greenfield agreements (employer and union) The current industrial relations system
Under the FWA 2009 there is still the Safety Net but no individual contracts. • The Safety Net for those workers unable to negotiate an enterprise agreement. These tend to be the least skilled workers • All workers who are not governed by the safety net will fall under one of the following agreements: • Single-enterprise agreements • Multi-enterprise agreements • Greenfields agreements The current industrial relations system
