Group Statistics • Accomplishments • Started Sept 2008 with Wkgp 117 Issues • As of Apr 2009 – 13 Open Issues (unassigned), 16 Task Groups • Task Groups (16) • 6 Task Groups Completed and Closed • 5 Task Groups In Process • 1 Task Groups On Hold • 4 Task Groups In Monitor for Compliance
Task Groups • TG I (In Process): Service Codes / Auto & Non-Auto. Full Service assigned in barcode at piece level vs. mailing level • Need to address FS service type codes on Auto/Non-Auto flats. • TG II (In Process): Allocation of additional ACS charges • Document how mailers will receive/charged for FS ACS records associated to non-FS rates/outside free window/duplicated mailpcs.
Task Groups • TG III (Monitor for Compliance): Transportation Management System (TMS) Integration • Method to get TMS data to mailer • USPS is conducting two pilots to test TMS connectivity/security solutions: USPS hosts firewall or Customer hosts firewall. • Pilot is supposed to end around mid August – at that time USPS will open the solution to customers. • TG IV (Closed): Priority Mail Open and Distribute • Requirements being developed to submit to IT.
Task Groups • TG V (Closed): Endorsements on Full Service STD Mail, ACS Endorsements for letter mail impacts • USPS agreed to mailer controlled solutions for short term May 2009 release. • On-hold until USPS resources available to work long term complete solution. • TG VI (Monitor for Compliance): CSA’s to cover dynamic plant loads • CSA's are being produced with new requirements. • USPS is considering to move the unscheduled loads into FAST in 2010.
Task Groups • TG VII (Closed): Business Reply Mail • Spawned new MTAC WG • TG VIII (Closed): Pallet Placard Location • No change in requirement – must be outside stretch wrap • Delay implementation until Nov. • TG IX (Monitor for Compliance): Issues and Consequences • Detail list of how various situations will affect full service • Spreadsheet in MITS detailing situations • MTAC 122 using Issues List to track new issues.
Task Groups • TG X (In Process): 3rd party updates of data • In discussion - expanded scope when PO! backed off commitment for Owner / Provider joint updates • Continue to work through the scenarios - identifying business processes and rules to support authentication, authorization, integrity, and confidentiality of data access to specific users. • TG XI (Closed): Range Records vs. Piece Detail • All issues are closed and in implementation plans.
Task Groups • TG XII (Closed): FAST 1 hr Update Data Content • Issue – updating eDocs with logical/physical data for Origin Entry mail. • USPS agreed to business solutions. • All open issues moved to TG XV • TG XIII (Hold): CONFIRM 3 hr Rule • On-hold – identifying FS data timing issues.
Task Groups • TG XIV (Monitor for Compliance): Co-Pal • Issues – virtual sacks on pallets, co-palletizing trays or sacks across segments onto mother pallets, OCI files. • Group reviewed the TRD and approved the requirements and design. • TG XV (In Process): Common Logical Mailing Issues • Group reviewed and approved short term solutions to bring mailers into FS by Nov 09. • Solution covers: 2-pass, 1-pass, co-palletization, TMS, continuous drop ship. • CRs approved and scheduled for Nov 09 release. • USPS will perform Value Stream Mapping for long term solution
Task Groups • TG XVI – Mailing Data Distribution • Develop business rules to determine what business entity updates/receives data.
Open Issues • ACS • Continue to clarify ACS details. • Develop solution to distribute non-FS ACS data records • Develop payment solution • Data Distribution • Review/finalize proposals • Develop business rules to determine what business entity updates/receives data. • Develop/enhance business requirements. • Develop long term solution for Continuous Mailings
