  1. Welcome to Woodslee Primary School

  2. A little bit about me . . . . • I studied primary teaching at Chester University for 4 years. • I have worked at Woodslee Primary School for 4 years. • I currently work in F1 (3-4 year olds) • I also have the role of MFL coordinator.

  3. Education System Early Years: • F1 (Nursery) 3-4 years • F2 (Reception) 4-5 years • Early Years follow Development Matters- Structured play. Key Stage 1: • Year 1 5-6 years • Year 2 6-7 years- SATS Key Stage 2 • Year 3 7-8 years • Year 4 8-9 years • Year 5 9-10 years • Year 6 10- 11 years- SATS

  4. Education System In Year 6, children visit Secondary schools. Children from Woodslee go to several different secondary schools. There are several grammar schools on the Wirral and children have to take 11+ exam if they want a place in the grammar schools. Some secondary schools are mixed and some are single sex schools.

  5. Education System Secondary School. Key Stage 3 • Year 7 11- 12 years • Year 8 12-13 years • Year 9 13- 14 years Key Stage 4 • Year 10 14- 15 years • Year 11 15- 16 years

  6. At Woodslee . . . Headteacher- Mrs Evans. Deputy Headteacher- Mr Pugh Assistant Headteacher- Mrs Allason Senior Management Team Teachers- all have a class and leader of a subject Teaching Assistants- support teaching and learning. Support children with additional needs.

At Woodslee . . . • Foundation 1- Morning session and afternoon session • Mixed Foundation 2/ Year 1 (Three classes) • Year 2 (2 classes) • Mixed Years 3/4 (Three classes) • Mixed Years 5/6 (Three classes) • Inclusion base- for children with autism. Planned provision to include them in mainstream classes.

  8. AtWoodslee . . . Subjects Early years- Communication and Language, Physical Development, PSED, Mathematics, Literacy, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design. Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Literacy, Maths, Science, ICT, History, Geography, Citizenship, PSHE, PE, Music, Design and Technology, Art. Key Stage 2 learn French in years 3 and 4 and Spanish in years 5 and 6. All year groups teach through a topic.

  10. Other visitor attractions • Lovely views of Welsh hillsFamous for delicious Ice cream Best chip shop on the Wirral (In my opinion) • Large woods.Great view of Liverpool!

  11. Other visitor attractions • Port SunlightLord LeverhulmeWanted to expand his business.Bought land and built his works and a model village to house employees.Each street of houses Over 30 architects designed the buildings in Port Sunlight
