Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo • U.S. pays Mexico $15 million in damages and an additional $3 million to Mexican citizens • TX, CA, NV, NM, AZ & CO are ceded to the U.S. • Mexican citizens in the area become Americans overnight, about 100,000 of them.
