Engineering Practices Subgroups • Fire Protection – very active, Best Practices, Benchmarking, integrated comments on draft orders and standards • Configuration Management – refocused this year with specific tasking, new chair, ongoing effort on CM approach for D&D • Engineering Standards – re-evaluated need for group - decided to retain, reenergize, and set goals • Value Management – new subgroup in formation
Ongoing Initiatives • HEPA Filter Testing – standards/acceptance criteria (in cooperation with ISM Working Group initiative) • Criteria for Engineering Involvement in Maintenance/Construction • Value Management – facilitate promotional site visits by DOE Sponsor • Maintaining & updating Subject Matter Expert listing
New Activities & Goals • Excavation/Penetration Permitting – benchmark contractor practices • Drawing Management • Minimum Engineering for Non-Nuclear Work • Human Performance Engineering • Explore potential for Engineering Workshop (1-2 years out) • Refocus Engineering Standards subgroup
Upcoming Meetings • January 19, 2005 Winter Telecon – 3:00 PM EDT • April 19-20, 2005 Spring Meeting – Albuquerque • July 20, 2005 Summer Telecon – 3:00 PM EDT (tentative) • October 18-19, 2005 Fall Meeting – Washington, DC (tentative)
