  1. Grab a Highlighter Look at the two poems, both called Full Fathom Five. Go through each, highlighting lines that stand out as important and perhaps might relate to the relationship between the Price Daughters and their father, Nathan Price. The poem by Sylvia Plath has very scattered syntax and diction, plus her punctuation is all over the place as well (very poetic indeed). TRY!!! You can do it! Just highlight for now.

  2. Full Fathom Five Warm Up • Look at the poem in its entirety on page 491. Using whatever electronic means you have (this is academic so please note as soon as we are done, phones go away), look up this literary reference and explain where it comes from and what it is talking about. Then, connect it to the novel. • Re-read “Full Fathom Five” by Sylvia Plath. Look up an analysis of the poem, again using whatever electronic means you have at the ready. Compare Plath’s version to Shakespeare’s. Connect this poem to the novel as well.
