Use a range of connectives in writing. if and because but so when I am excited because we are going on a trip to Lincoln soon! I love going to the seaside butnot when it’s raining. All punctuation goes inside the speech marks. “I don’t want to get out of bed!” moaned Mrs Towers miserably. “Why can’t we have a three day weekend?” questioned Mrs Baxter cheekily. “Let’s work really hard this morning and see if we can have some extra playtime later,” announced Mrs Towers cheerily.
Adjectives – describes the noun. Adverbs – describes how the verb is done – often ends in –ly. Similes – compares one thing to another using ‘as’ or ‘like’. Metaphors – tells you that one thing ‘is’ something else, creating a vivid image.
5 Mrs Towers gently closed the door behind her and skipped all the way to school, singing a jolly tune. CRASH!
