INTRODUCTION • The need for power is going on increasing in this modern world. • But the production rate is lesser when compared to the need. • So switching on to alternative energy sources which are based on renewable energy resources is the hot topic. • Alternative energy production from wave energy is being a much unexplored department. • So, we are planning to explore this field and overcome the defects of this type.
OBJECTIVE The main objectives of the project are as follows. • To check the power production capability from tides. • To utilize the power production from tides. • To implement a revolutionized design in the field. • To overcome all the hurdles which are faced in the process of power production from tides.
METHODS OF POWER PRODUCTION • Power production from non-renewable resources. • Power production from renewable resources.
TIDAL ENERGY OVERVIEW • Tidal energy is the energy which is obtained from tides. • It is also known as wave energy, ocean energy, etc., • Tides or waves occur due to the gravitational force of the earth, and occur at specific intervals. • The tides are also affected by the gravitational force of the moon. This makes higher tides on specific days.
CONSTRUCTION • It consists of a float, which floats on the water surface. • It is connected to a plunger and is fitted with a clearance inside the cylinder. • The setup consists of two opening ports, one for inlet and the other for outlet. • A reservoir is placed at certain height above sea level. • The outlet port is connected to a pipeline and made in such a way that the water pumped is made to flow to the reservoir.
WORKING • The cylinder setup is placed in the seashore where the tides produced are high. • The float will move according to the crests and troughs of the waves. • Thus, the plunger connected to it also moves up and down. • Thus, it acts as a pump and pumps water continuously without any manual effort. • The pumped water is made to flow to the reservoir which is at a certain height from the ground.
The stored water is then made to flow back to the ocean through a pipeline. • In between, a turbine is placed in such a way that the total discharge is utilized for rotating the turbine. • Thus, when the water flows down to the ocean, it rotates the turbine and higher power is produced, just because of the fact that the water flows down faster because of the gravitational force. • The output will be even higher, if more than one pistons are installed in the seashore.
CALCULATIONS Diameter at the top surface = 280mm =.28m Height of the top surface = 330mm =.33m To calculate volume of the top surface,

COST ESTIMATION TOTAL 820
INNOVATIONS PLANNED: • We have planned to innovate the project and bring it to further heights by adding a wind turbine at the top of the floating chamber, and use solar panels all over it. • The power output from the solar, wind and tides can be combined together and the higher power output can be used for power re-distribution.
CONCLUSION • Many say that the future fuel is hydrogen because of its abundant availability and higher power produced. • But it’s costly and thus, this project can be stated as the future power production because of the higher power output, clean power, eco friendly nature, continuous output, no manual effort needed, inexpensive project and thus it can be said in a single sentence that, “This is the future”.
