External evaluators conduct reviews twice a year – formative and summative evaluations
Just completed summative evaluation for 2008-09
We are using funds in a manner consistent with purpose and regulations of Title III

Offered needed improvements in administration of 3 of our activities
3. Title III - Impact Student Success Initiatives
Three counselors – all teach freshman seminar and provide additional advising especially to students in academic difficulty (one focused on second year students)
Coordinators of Reading, Writing, Math support
Tutors for Learning Center (Reading, Math, Writing) and for Athletes
CHEER (before we received UNC funding)
Supplemental Instruction
Learning Communities (pay faculty stipends for developing integrated assignments)
4. Title III Impact Library Services
Increased holdings, electronic databases to support new academic programs
Remain current to support accreditation efforts
Information literacy activity
Faculty received training and incorporated information literacy into their courses – exemplary project
5. Title III Impact Information Services (ITTS)
Online Data Store (ODS) complete; redesign Banner reports
5 Smart classrooms each year
Support for computer labs
Desktop video conferencing at SJAFB
Replace core network hardware

Support SACS and specialized accreditation (Social Work, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Chemistry, Computer Science, Music
Faculty Development – CITL offered more than 100 workshops and seminars with total attendance of 1,162
7. Title III impact Sponsored Research
Added two positions: budget analyst, compliance officer
Contributed to increased grant funding
8. Title III Impact Institutional Assessments
Support staff in University Testing
Support the variety of assessments we conduct, such as ACCUPLACER, CQS, CBASE, Alumni Survey, Student Satisfaction Inventory, GRE, PRAXIS
Provide proctoring service for faculty
Administer variety of exams in support of programs like First Steps

Study abroad – China and Nigeria
Student trips to Model UN meeting

Original renovation – state of the art language lab, including equipment, software, and staff

Reading Across the Curriculum
Workshops for faculty to integrate strategies that enhance reading and writing skills throughout the disciplines
11. Title III Impact (CCRAA) Nursing – NCLEX Reviews, consultants, reading specialist, travel (discontinued funding this year)
Center for Promoting STEM
Tutoring for our students in STEM courses
11 rising high school seniors (two Cross Creek students) conducted research projects with FSU faculty this summer; follow-up activities this year to encourage enrollment at FSU
School of Education Advisement Center
Facilitated recruitment of new students (work with University College and Admissions
Facilitated transition of students from UC to SoE
12. Title III Impact (CCRAA) School of Business
Improving pedagogy in economics and finance courses through live trading room
I3D classroom to enhance instruction
Social Sciences student research – 10 faculty and 26 students (3 gave presentation at Criminal Justice national conference)
