TITLE III: MACT Standards 1990 CAAA direct EPA to set standards for all major sources of HAPS (and some area sources that are listed under the Urban Air Toxics Strategy - UATS). Promulgated 94 MACT Standards for Major Sources Promulgated Area Source Standards addressing all 70 source categories required by the UATS
Title III Update: Risk and Technology Reviews (RTR) • Section 112(f)(2) of the CAA directs EPA to conduct risk assessments on each source category subject to MACT, and to determine if additional standards are needed to address residual risks. • Section 112(d)(6) of the CAA requires EPA to review and revise the MACT standards, as necessary, taking into account developments in practices, processes, and control technology
Title III Update: RTR Regulations • To date, EPA has promulgated RTR Rules addressing 37 source categories • 6 RTR Regulations under court order deadline to be proposed by 10/31/2012 • Acrylic/Modacrylic Fibers Production • Flexible Polyurethane Foam Production • Off-site Waste Treatment • Phosphoric Acid and Phosphate Fertilizers • Polycarbonates Production • Polymers and Resins III Production
