Part 2: Values and Expectations The CIRP survey Cooperative Institutional Research Project conducted by the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California at Los Angeles Administered through OIRA at Freshman Orientation 2013 86% of OU incoming Freshmen were surveyed fall 2013!! 2,569 Enrolled FTIACs 2,221 Responses In general, we are more similar to national norms than we are dissimilar.

  18. Realistic Expectations? 74.6% enter college with the expectation they will graduate within 4 years. At OU, the 4 year graduation rate in 2012 was at 15.3%. If you want to graduate in 4 years – take lots of credits, pass all of them, and see an advisor often!

NSSE National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE: pronounced ‘nessie’) • College student survey that assesses the extent to which students engage in educational practices associated with high levels of learning and development • Administered every two years. • OU has shown steady increases in NSSE results since 2005 • More data is available on OIRA’s website. • All data is for 1st year students unless otherwise noted.
