Heart Murmurs • Sounds like a swishing sound with the Lub dub sound. • Caused by a valve not closing tightly or a hole in the heart
Cardiac Arrest • When circulation completely stops to the rest of the blood • There is no pulse because the heart is not pumping blood • A person becomes unconscious because oxygen is not delivered to the brain • Drug overdosing can cause someone to go into cardiac arrest
Heart Attacks • This is different than cardiac arrest • A heart attack occurs when a blood vessel becomes blocked and interrupts blood flow to the heart, causing heart muscle to die. • a fatty material called plaque (plak) builds up over many years on the inside walls of the coronary arteries

Congestive Heart Failure • A condition that can result from any structural or functional cardiac disorder that impairs the ability of the heart to fill with or pump a sufficient amount of blood throughout the body. • Leads to the heart and body's failure.
Heart Bypass Surgery is used to treat patients with chest pain and prevent heart attacks. In this procedure, part of a blood vessel from another part of the body is stitched in to “bypass” the clogged artery and take blood to the heart.
