Who We Are • Largest enlisted reserve component association • Organized in SD in 1970 by Senior NCOs • Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia • Our mission is to give a voice on Capitol Hill for Enlisted National Guard men and women, their families, and retirees • Longstanding member of The Military Coalition

  3. Membership • As of December 2012, there were 45,266 EANGUS members (nationwide) • Annual Membership Drive September-December Annually

Membership Benefits • Awards to individuals who support EANGUS • Grants & Scholarships • USAA Scholarship $500 • Duke Corning Scholarship $1000 • Mallow Scholarship $100 • Auxiliary Scholarships • Various National Level scholarships • Tricare & Dental Insurance • New Patriot quarterly magazine • Travel discounts • Vendor discounts with Apple, Dell, Silvertowne Mint, FTD Flowers • …and much, much more!

Membership Benefits cont’d. • Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance • Dues-paying members and life members of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States have an accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) benefit at no extra cost to the member. • EANGUS members under the age of 80 are automatically enrolled for $1,000 in accidental death and dismemberment coverage. The NGAUS Insurance Trust trustees voted during their October 1998 meeting to reestablish the benefit. • This $1,000 benefit, will automatically cover all members under age 80 whose national dues have been received or accounted for by the EANGUS national office. There are no other enrollment requirements for the member to be covered.

  6. EANGUS “We Care for America” Foundation • Emergency relief fund for EANGUS members • Emergency grants for financial hardship • 501(c)(3) non-profit charity • Over 400 grants have been approved since Katrina, totaling over $500,000

  7. Military Coalition with EANGUS/SDNGEA • Formed to work on compensation and benefits issues for service members, veterans, and their families • Speaks with one powerful voice to lawmakers • 35 member associations, representing almost 6 million members nationwide

What EANGUS/SDNGEA Does For You • Each year, EANGUS works with legislative issues to benefit National Guard members • Legislative goals come from the membership • By attending the Annual State or National Conference, your voice can be heard for what issues may be of concern to Soldiers/Airmen in your unit

State Accomplishments • Education scholarships and tuition waivers or reimbursements • State income tax advantages • Group life insurance • Distinctive vehicle license plates • Low cost home loans • State bonus for combat zone service • Monetary award for enlistment referrals • Free toll passes on bridges and highways • Exemption from arrest while going to/from duty • Interest free emergency loans • State retirement income for NG service • Limited exemption of property taxes • Burial rights in state cemeteries
