  3. Our Purpose To promote and advance the status, welfare and professionalism of the Enlisted Members of the National Guard of Kansas Professional People belong to Professional Organizations

Enlisted Association History • The National Enlisted Association was created in 1970 by a group of senior NCOs • Incorporated in Jackson, Mississippi in 1972. • Created to give us a voice on Capitol Hill for Enlisted National Guard issues. • In 1973 a group of NCOs from Kansas visited the first EANGUS conference in South Dakota and started Enlisted Association of Kansas later that year. • Today EANGUS is the largest Enlisted Reserve component organization. • National Headquarters located in Alexandria, VA • Actively involved in the Military Coalition.   5. What Does EANGKS Do ? • Legislative Action • Scholarships - National, State & Auxiliary • Insurance programs • Publications & Information • Benefits • Conferences • Awards Professional People belong to Professional Organizations

EANGKS Goals The ultimate GOAL of the ENLISTED ASSOCIATION is to have a large number of members to support our legislative team on issues affecting the enlisted men and women of the national guard and their families. These issues include: • Pay • Compensation • Quality of life • Full-time manning • Readiness • Equipment Professional People belong to Professional Organizations

  7. Membership Committee • Per Bylaws & SOP consists of: • Committee Chairman appointed by President • Vice-Presidents (Army & Air) • Area Chair from each Area • Unit Representatives • Others appointed by President Professional People belong to Professional Organizations

Membership Committee Duties • Liaison with the Adjutant General’s Office • Develop & recommend actions to Executive Council that will enhance the membership of the ASSOCIATION • Render a report to each quarterly Executive Council meeting, and annual report to the ASSOCIATION • Insure membership applications and literature are regularly distributed. Area Chairman • Is a voting member of the Executive Council • Elected by members of their respective Area • Elected for a two year term • Terms are meant to be staggered so that annually approximately half the Area Chairman will complete their tenure Professional People belong to Professional Organizations

Membership Committee SOP • Section 1 in your resources binder • Committee is your support network. • Look your Vice-President for assistance. • Committee Chair will assist you to get organized and keep you informed of programs. • Executive Director will provide your membership from the membership dbase. Membership Procedures • Membership How To’s • Work from your Area/Unit Roster to get early renewals (Saves money and supplies) • Prepare a plan for your Area to increase membership to your goal • Communications is two ways • Discussion/Workshop Professional People belong to Professional Organizations
