  2. Good Writers

  3. Good Writers: Edit Call the COPS! Patrol your writing! Capitalization Order and organization Punctuation Spelling Time to practice Patrolling!!

  4. Good Writers: Edit Reread your story in your head. Read your story out loud. Read your story starting at the end and reading each word until you reach the beginning looking for spelling errors. Have someone else read your story.

  5. Good Writers: Edit When a friend read the story I was editing, they found two edits that I missed! As the author sometimes you 'read' what you meant and not what you wrote. It is important to get many 'writer's eyes' editing your story before you publish it!

  6. Good Writers: Edit Rita was so excited. She was going to be going on her frist trip on a plane. Rita was going to Mexico with her family for the spring break. They would be gone for ten days. The trip was only twenty-four hours away and Rita could hardly wait. She was packing her bags and making sure she had everything with her. Rita packed sun lotion, sunglasses, and a hat in her beach bag. She also decided to take a book along to read while sitting on the beach.

  7. Good Writers: Edit She packed the book, My Favorite Week by author Cole M. Teal. She thought the title of the book fit perfectly for the time. Rita wondered if her mom and dad were also ready. She decided to check with them. She went to their bedroom and stuck her head through the door, and called out, “Hello, Mom, Dad, are you ready for our trip?” Rita saw both of them fast asleep on the bed, dressed in their summer outfits, with two suitcases packed at the end of the bed. hmmm, i guess their ready, thought Rita to herself
