  2. UOI The Transdiciplinary Theme for EY 1 students in this period is “How The World Works”. Central Idea : The interpretation of objects may be changed by light. Concepts : form, function and connections Related Concepts : light, shadow, interpretation, colors Lines of inquiry : • Sources of light • How light changes the way we see things • Interpretation of shadow and light in the art The students learn how the world works through observation of light and shadows and how they are related to interpretation of objects. They will explore a dark room and various sources of light to answer their inquiries. For the summative assessment, the students are going to conduct a group research about how interpretation of objects can be changed by light.

  3. Mathematics EY1 students will start learning how to read pictograph. In this lesson, students will start the activity by sorting the source of light, they will count the sources of light. The next lesson they will learn is about position and direction. For this lesson, students will play a position game using a big box in the classroom. Students will also have a school walk. After learning about position and direction, the students will learn about Pattern by creating pattern using real objects. They will tell the attributes of the pattern (by shapes, colors or sizes). The last lesson in this term is addition and subtraction. Students will start learning by grouping objects. They will count the number of objects in the groups to create addition and/or subtraction.

  4. English In this unit, we are going to review letter sounds since the students will learn how to read three letter words. They will match pictures with their names. They will also learn how to spell three letter words using letter cards. If they have been able to spell the words, they will learn how to write them in a correct letter formation.   5. Music Students will show how they feel about the music they are listening by dancing, drawing or explaining about the music. To show their interest in music, students will play traditional music (Angklung) Visual art Students will learn how to express their feelings about an artwork and give the reason verbally. Students are expected to tell names of the materials and the process how they make an artwork. Students will create an artwork using different elements, such as; color, texture and shapes. Physical exercise EY 1 students will learn how to play games together in groups, such as: football, run and touchand group hurdle race. They will also experience different activities or games that allow them to use different parts of their body. They will join running race, swimming, tricycle race, and throwing ball into the basket.
