Aphasia Training for Health Professionals Thursday March 26th, 2009 at BGH - Morrison Auditorium Registration 0830 Workshop 0900 – 1600 h Target Audience: You will benefit from this workshop if you are a health professional working with stroke survivors, and you wish to learn techniques to communicate more effectively with clients with aphasia. Continuing Education Credits: A personalized certificate of attendance will be given to all participants who complete the training. This certificate can be used to obtain continuing education credits according to each profession’s rules and regulations. • Course Objectives: • To increase knowledge & enhance the capacity of health professionals to meet the needs of their clients with aphasia through practice and aphasia-friendly materials and communication strategies. • To provide practical strategies and techniques to improve your assessments and interventions and facilitate conversation with clients with aphasia. • To provide opportunities to practice strategies and techniques learned in the workshop through role-playing and group discussion and feedback. • Course Registration: • There is no fee for this workshop.
