  4. “Hey, Sisyphus, when you’ve got a minute I’d like to discuss this progress report with you.”

  5. Thought of the Day • What would it mean for you if, starting tomorrow, PED generated or populated the following reports using live (as is) data from your local SIS and other systems: • Class rosters for assessments? • Adjusted cohort graduation rate? • Drop out and truancy reports? • Teacher evaluation under NMTeach? • School and district report cards • All federal reports, including CRDC? • Dashboards for teachers, parents, local school boards?

  6. Establishing a single source of truth

  7. PED IT Transformation

  8. Local Data Systems via API & Real-Time Data Quality Feedback • What does Data Quality look like in your local system(s) right now? • What information do you need from PED about your data to address any issues with Data Quality? • How hard would it be to address any issues with Data Quality? • What processes do you have to clean data in your SIS? • What support do you need from your SIS vendor to correct issues in your system(s)? • What is your relationship with your SIS vendor?

  9. PED Real-Time Collection & Validation • What would happen if data moved automatically from your SIS and other systems to PED with no manual intervention? • What if the data in PED systems mirrored data in your local SIS and other system? • What would happen if there were not opportunities to correct data submitted to PED within state a system or using a tool at PED? • No SOAP • No Accuroster • No Data Review

  10. PED Reports & Analysis (including ESSA & CDRC) • What would it mean if PED used as is data from your SIS and other systems to submit your Civil Rights Data Collection report to the feds without human intervention? • What if you could see clearly into PED systems as your teacher evaluations and schools grades are generated? • What would happen if you could drill down and see how each teacher, student, and school contributed to these accountability results? • What would happen if you could see how your programs impact student outcomes and teacher performance?

  11. Real-Time Admin Reports & Data in the Classroom • What would it mean if your teachers had real-time, actionable information about their students, their mastery of content and their progress towards college and career readiness by the end of high school? • What would you need to see at the districts, school and classroom level in dashboards and reports to make your jobs easier? • How can we leverage data to improve student learning, teacher performance, and school improvement?

  12. Efficient Use of Time and Energy Luposlipaphobia: The fear of being pursued by timber wolves around a kitchen table while wearing socks on a newly waxed floor. -Gary Larson

  13. Come to the EASOL Real-Time Pilot Panel Discussion • Your peers will answers questions about their experiences working with PED and EASOL as we develop a real-time environment and begin moving towards our vision of real-time data impacting the classroom and local schools/districts across the state. • We need your thoughts, ideas and struggles as we prepare a better tomorrow: for you, your teachers, for your districts and schools, and especially for your students and their families.

  14. Moving forward… • NM PED is moving forward to establish the pre-conditions necessary to make this transformation feasible statewide. • We will be launching Cohort 2 this summer. • What will it mean for your district to participate? • What information do you need to bring back home to make this important decision. • Keeping thinking about this throughout the day, and bring your questions and concerns to the panel this afternoon. • More details this afternoon, tomorrow, and beyond…
