  4. 3. Use IF in yes/no questions • Does he like sushi? ↓ • Do you know if* he likes sushi?

  5. Direct question: Where is the airport? • Could you (possibly) tell me where the airport is? • Do you (happen to) know where the airport is? • I wonder if you could tell me where the airport is, please. • Would you mind telling me where the airport is?

  6. Direct question: Where does he live? • Could you (possibly) tell me where he lives? • Do you (happen to) know where he lives? • I wonder if you could tell me where he lives, please. • Would you mind telling me where he lives?

  7. To make your questions sound more polite, begin like this: • Excuse me,... • Please,... • I’m sorry to bother you, but...
