Spanish Parts of Speech Like English the Spanish speech has thousands of words that people use everyday to communicate, and as we know not all these words have the same function. For Example, some words express “action”, others words “name things, describe characteristics, qualities, complement, join or link other words, …” All these are the “grammatical building blocks" of the language necessary to express our thoughts, our needs, feelings and everything we want to communicate to others. So if we are interesting in learning a second language, the learning process could resemble the decision of buying a house from someone or build and customize one. If you chose the second alternative, and if you do it for the first time, these questions will be coming to your mind: 1. What materials and tools do I need? How these will be used in this project? 2. What I need to do first, second…? What process corresponds to each job? 3. How I will join all these jobs properly to reach my goal? Spanish Parts of Speech All these questions make sense in this case because each part of the house to build has its own job or function. In the case of writing a message to communicate your feelings using a second language, you have to decide between two alternatives: First alternative: use the target language one time without a real knowledge of the language, building some sentences using a translator and deliver the message. You are not able to make any changes, you don’t have the knowledge and any change could affect the content that you are not sure what you wrote. Can you find someone to translate your message? Spanish Parts of Speech The second alternative is to learn how to customize your message, so you have to take classes and learn to use the language finding answers all your questions about it. A language uses different types of words, and each type of word has its own function in the sentence, like in English you need to know the Spanish categories of the words that are categorized in 8 basic types or classes called "parts of speech or the words grammatical category.” Let see examples; CDEC- Chamber of Studies & Business Connections
