Review Dongguan International Science and Technology Collaboration Week of 2004—— consists of 16 special topics in three major areas Exhibitions • Exhibition of Dongguan International Manufacturing Industry Informationization and E-government Solutions of 2004 • Exhibition of Hong Kong's Design Industry and Dongguan’s Manufacturing Industry of 2004 • Exhibition of Retrospective and Prospective Manufacturing Industry in Dongguan and Hong Kong • Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Works of China’s Universities and Institutes • Exhibition of Excellent Works of China’s College Students Majoring in Design Swiss Expo Forum at 05DISTC

Review Dongguan International Science and Technology Collaboration Week of 2004— successful and rewarding • More than 50 experts addressed topics; and more than 1,500 persons attended the various lectures. • Over 100 suppliers of manufacturing information-oriented technology and e-government; more than 20 best-known design companies and 15 chambers of commerce from HK. Review Dongguan International Science and Technology Collaboration Week of 2004— successful and rewarding • Over 300 excellent works of industry-design major graduates were displayed. • More than 30 universities and institutes from home and abroad and over 1000 local enterprises of science and technology took part in the talks. These included: Beijing university, Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University, CTI-SwissIPA Swiss Expo Forum at 05DISTC

Review Dongguan International Science and Technology Collaboration Week of 2004— successful and rewarding • More than 30 agreements were signed during the DISTC (including SwissIPA-CTI) • The Cooperation between Hong Kong and Dongguan gave birth to the “First Manufacturing Enterprises Prize” which was granted to 15 enterprises. Strategy of 2005 DISTC The goal is to impart knowledge of enablingtechnologies and the methodologies necessary toimprove the quality of the product with theproducers based in Dongguan such as: • Production technology providers (Swiss precision) • Environmental technology providers • Education and training providers (including education technology) • Industrial design providers Swiss Expo Forum at 05DISTC

Dongguan International Computer, Communication and Consumer (3C) Expo • Dongguan is the most important processing base and one of the main purchase centers for computer and communication products. • Dongguan has more than 3,500 enterprises specializing in computer and communication products, dozens of which occupy over 10% market share in the world. • Already held successfully 6 times. Dongguan International Computer, Communication and Consumer (3C) Expo • Over 300 exhibitors from China, America, Japan, ROK, HK, Macau, and Taiwan. • Computers, electronic parts, communicating network technology products, software, office devices, modern OA products, digital products, individual information products and 3C products will be shown together.   16. Swiss Precision Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Expo • Dongguan has nearly thousands of enterprises that specialize in precision part processing. These enterprises are mainly equipped with digital-control processing devices, most of which are imported from Japan, China Taiwan and the rest from the United State, Europe including Switzerland. • Such digital-control devices consist of digital control lathes, processing centers, digital control punches and a few mill-mix devices. There are scores of thousands of employees working with the enterprises where products range from electronics, computer, automobile, communication, connection, watch and clock, etc. • HK Critical Components Manufacturers Association, HK Watch Manufacturers Association, Dongguan Machinery Industry Association and Dongguan Taiwan-funded Enterprises Association will attend.
