What it was The Russian Revolution of 1917 consists of two main revolutions: • The Revolution of February • The Revolution of October The war of February, was started during The First World War, when Russia was not in a good situation. The government at the time ruled by Nicholas II of Russia was devoting all of the countries resources to war. The coat of arms of the House of Romanov, The Imperial Dynasty at the time.

3. What it was Because of the War, inflation occurred in Russia and there was a huge poverty rate. Somewhere in Russia, in February, employees at a steel manufacturer start a strike over poor working conditions and little pay. The participants of the strike rose from 30,000 to 250,000 overnight and the police were brought in to stop the rioting. Then the soldiers fighting in war joined the protestors and call for a resignation of the current leader and on the 2 March 1917, Nicholas II was removed from power and a Provincial Government is set up to run the country Nicholas II

4. What it was The Revolution of October was made when Vladimir Lenin, a Russian Revolutionary, was brought back into Russia by the Germans. He was back in Russia to protest Russia's participation in the war and he then created a communist government. Vladimir Lenin

5. Why it occurred The first revolution occurred because of poor conditions in Russia, because of the leader Nicholas II’s idea to give most of Russia's recourses devoted to war. The second revolution occurred because of the idea that Nicholas II had made about the war, was still being used, and the people did not like all of their resources used up in conflict.
