  2. About Me • Teaching ESL at Fremont Adult School for 10 years • The school serves thousands of students each year • ESL, CBET, Distance Learning and HS Departments • Integrate technology into my curriculum • VESL lab learns English through a variety of computer based-projects

  3. Meet the FACE Mentees • Asha Pathania – HS Math/Algebra teacher • Sherie Tillman – offsite CBET teacher • Pamela Weiss-Barr – CBET and ESL teacher • Yelena Zimon – ESL Dept Chair and Advanced/Transition to College ESL teacher

  4. Project Overview • 4 teachers in ESL, CBET and HS Dept participated in integrating the SENTEO clickers into their curriculum • 3 lessons each for a total of 12 lessons • Algebra, Vocabulary, Grammar, Multilevel CBET, and Nutrition lessons

  5. Process and Results • Needs assessment • Selection process • Stipend and Certificate of Participation • Expectations • email correspondence, updates • Folder with information • 10 Lessons posted on FACE webpage http://www.face.edu/Page/1186

  6. DEMO and Training • 1 paid Teacher training • 2 demos in my VESL lab • Drop-in lab from 12-1:15 M-Th so teachers could work on lessons and ask questions • Work closely with FACE tech team Principal Steve Giudici tries out the SENTEO clickers!

  7. Reflection • In the future, I would do more check-ins and get more feedback on what teachers and students liked or disliked about the SENTEO clickers. • I would also create a personal timeline sheet for each mentee so that they could check it off for accountability and self-progress.
