Indiana Share Policies • Loan Period • The length of the loan is determined by the lending library. • Renewals--The lending library determines if an item may be renewed.  • Borrowing libraries interested in renewing an item may email Indiana Share staff at share@library.in.gov and request a renewal.

  6. Step One – Create Account • Contact the Indiana Share staff to create your user account. (317) 232-3699 Office hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM through 4:30 PM

  7. Step Two – Search WorldCat You will access First Search at http://www.in.gov/library/ishare.htm Click “Click here to begin ILL”

  8. Click on the item you want Step Three: Find the Item

  9. Verify item details Click this link to import into ILLiad Step Four: Click Share link

  10. Step Five: Log In Here you will enter the login information provided to you by Indiana Share staff.

  11. Step Six: Creating a request If you need to make any notes about an item (including amount you will pay for postage), please do so in this field. ILLiad will populate the fields from FirstSearch

Patron makes request that is unavailable in your system ILL librarian searches for title in First Search Found title is requested through Indiana Share Material is processed and sent via INfo Express to Requesting Library Requested title is found and pulled off the shelf at the Lending Library Request is submitted to ILL staff of Indiana Share Library receives item and sends email confirmation to Indiana Share staff Library returns items to Indiana Share via INfo Express Patron reads and returns item to library Indiana Share Process

  15. Other Information • Returning ILL Materials • Send through InfoExpress or mail if borrowed from out of state. • Include paperwork that was provided by lending library.

  16. Updating your account • The lending libraries appreciate updates when you have received and returned items. • Please email Share staff weekly at share@library.in.gov with any requests received or returned. • A template spreadsheet for reporting your received and returned items is available here: • http://www.in.gov/library/files/Returned_and_received_Spreedsheet.xls • You do not need to send an update if you have not received or returned any requests that week.
