FEM Mechanical Model • The ANSYS FEM delivered at completion of the Design Concept Phase has been converted into MSC.NASTRAN • Previously defined procedures and rules have been applied (e.g. avoiding of drilling stiffness, re-modeling of entities not automatically translated as springs, rigid links and layup orientations) • Re-modeling changes are as agreed previouslywith EIE • Coherence between Ansys and Nastran FEM is demonstrated by comparison of the results
FEM Mechanical Model • Normal Modes Analysis • NMA was carried out as preliminary check of NASTRAN Model • Results of NASTRAN Model are the same than ANSYS model Scale Factor: 100 Mode#2 - Frequency 8.89 Hz
FEM Mechanical Model The following steps are in progress: • FEM Modelling • Further checks of model accuracy and performances • FEM Antenna rotations about Azimuth axis • FEM Antenna rotations about Elevation axis • Interfacing Software • “Automated” mapping of temperatures from TMM into NASTRAN FEM
