  2. Response Rate 30% • Survey was e-mailed to 64 members • 19 Members responded

  3. Number of meetings respondents report attending in the last 2 years • 47 % have attended 0-4 meetings in the last 2 years (less than ½ meetings possible) • 53% have attended 6-10 meetings (at least ½ of the meetings possible)

  4. Briefly describe your health care setting and areas of responsibility. • Settings: • 15 (79%) acute care settings • 5 (26%) academic medical centers • 2 community hospitals • 1 rehab hospital • 1 hospice setting • 1 college of nursing • 2 suburban settings • 1 rural setting

Briefly describe your health care setting and areas of responsibility. • Responsibilities: • 13 (68%) have hospital wide responsibilities • 3 (16%) unit based or population based educators • 6 (32%) responsible for orientation • 4 (21%) coordinate students in their facility • 3 e-learning/LMS • 2 INA Nurse Planners • 1 assists with quality • 2 leadership development

  11. National Nursing Staff Development Organization Membership 90% of respondents are NNSDO members • 5 respondents members for up to 2 yrs • 6 respondents members for 3-5 yrs • 5 respondents for 10 years • 1 respondent for 15 yrs

  12. How many times did we attend NNSDO National Conference? • Majority, 8 (42%)have never attended • 4 (21%) have attended 3-5 times • 4 (21%) have attended twice

  13. What are we interested in learning about? • Most • Evaluation methods & ROI • Technology & staff development • Teaching/Learning methods • Instructional Design, Program Managment & Scope & Standards all equal • Least • Teaching/Learning methods

What else do we want to learn? • Scope and Standards have just been revised >Higher levels of evaluation, but how to make them practical & achievable • Learning Needs assessment: what works, what does not work? • Healthy work environments, Care coordination/care management, Engaging staff in quality improvement, Human factors in patient safety

  17. 94% of Respondents have visited website • They liked most: • Attractive , engaging &easy to use • Great about sharing upcoming meeting information and info on NNSDO • On NNSDO's website-central location for all chapters • Since so much communication is done via e-mail, I don't feel the need to visit the website. • That we even have one, learning about the history of CANSDO and what is going on • Recommendations: • Perhaps a bit more aesthetically pleasing • Title and date of meetings-driving directions • It would be helpful to have member profiles and contact information • We need a way to communicate with members outside of meeting attendance

  18. Location of Meeting • 84% of respondents would prefer to keep the meetings rotating between the city & the suburbs • Two respondents suggested the use of remote learning technologies so they/others can attend

  19. Members like our meetings! • They told us to continue: • The format is good....light dinner followed by CNE act program and then business. • Discussion among the members. • Presentations with contact hours. • Business meeting

  20. Suggestions for meetings • Wear name tags • Structure more sharing during dinner; more sharing in general (stated a couple of different ways) • Adjust dues so members pay less for dinner • Brief discussion regarding healthcare/workforce trends we should be planning for • Journal discussions
