Agenda CELDT Overview Test Security Test Coordinator Responsibilities
Initial Assessment (IA)to determine new student’s level of English proficiency • Administered to all new students (to the district) in Grades K-8 with a language other than English as determined by their Primary Language Survey • Must be administered within 30 calendar days of enrollment • Administered throughout the year
Annual Assessment (AA)to assess all English learners on their progress in acquiring English proficiency • Administered to all continuing English learners in Grades K-8 • Administered September 3, 2013, through October 31, 2013 • Used in determining Reclassification (w/ELA STAR results, teacher input, parent consultation)
Pages 39 & 41 in manual Test Security • Security Agreements- must be completed by test site coordinators • Security Affidavits- must be completed by site staff who will have access to the CELDT materials; return to R & E • All materials must be kept in a LOCKED, SECURE area before and after testing

Prepare Test Materials for Distribution Testing Schedule • Prepare your own on-site testing schedule • Include deadlines for Initials and Annuals • Include make-up days
Prepare Testing Locations • Free from noise & interruptions • Make necessary arrangements for students w/IEPs & 504s • Display ‘Do Not Disturb’ Signs • Determine One-on-One Testing Location

Packing Materials for Return • Place the completed GIS on top of the scorable answer books/docs; then place in the PLASTIC BAGGIE • For grade levels that require more than one baggie, label the PLASTIC BAGGIE: • Grade level • Number the baggies (i.e. “1 of 2”, “2 of 2”)
Packing Materials for Return continued • Place all labeled baggies in original CELDT boxes • Bring materials according to return schedule
MATERIAL RETURN In addition to Scorable documents, BRING: • Completed S/GL • Copies of Initial Assessment score sheets • Any unused Pre-ID labels • Copies of signed Test Security Affidavits for all staff who access CELDT materials • Any Test Irregularity Reports
AFTER Annual Assessment Window • Keep all unused test materials at your site for continuing Initial Assessment of new students
