Development of Trans-European transport network (Cohesion fund) • Development of insufficient land transport infrastructure links with other EU and third countries (Rail Baltica, extension of capacities for road and railway infrastructure of Trans-European importance, creation of public logistic centres); • Exploitation of the most important transit node – Klaipeda State Seaport- potential(deepening of port water area, reconstruction of quays, development of access roads and railways, development of passengers services infrastructure); • Extension of infrastructure capacities of international airports (Vilnius’, Kaunas’ and Palanga’s) (enlargement of passenger terminals, implementation of new measures for flight safety and aviation security, development of passenger transit infrastructure); • Adjustment of trunk roads network for increasing road transport (especially heavy-weight transport) traffic(strengthening of road surface up to 11,5 t/axle standard, implementation of information traffic management systems); • Reduction of transport accident rate and congestion in the main trunk roads (implementation of technical traffic safety infrastructure and implementation of electronic safety measures, construction of cities’ by-passes).

  7. Development of national, regional and local transport network (structural funds) • Improvement of technical parameters of transport infrastructure of both state and regional importance (paving of gravel roads, enhancement of road surface of 1st class and other roads, extension of conjunctive railway lines capacity, improvement of public passenger services quality); • Improvement of traffic safety and reduction of negative environmental impact at the rest transport infrastructure network (improvement of traffic management systems, reconstruction of bridges, crossings and level-crossings, construction of footways and bike-lanes); • Development of recreational and tourist transport infrastructure (re-building of Sventoji seaport, development of infrastructure for recreational navigation, improvement of passenger service capacities).
