  2. What are reflexive verbs? • A verb is reflexive when the subject and the object are the same. • In English: • I wash myself. • I bath myself. • I shave myself. • What are some other reflexives in English?

  3. I wash myself. • Subject: I • Verb: Wash • Object: Myself • Since the subject and object are the same, the verb is reflexive.

  4. Is this Reflexive? • I wash the car.subject: Iverb: washobject: car • Since the subject and object are different, the verb is not reflexive.

Here's another example of how a verb can be either reflexive or non-reflexive. • I scratch myself.subject: Iverb: scratchobject: myself • Since the subject and object are the same, the verb is reflexive. • I scratch the dog.subject: Iverb: scratchobject: dog • Since the subject and object are different, the verb is not reflexive.

  6. Reflexive or not? • I bathe. • I bathe the baby. • I wake up my brother. • I wake up.

  7. When a verb is reflexive, the infinitive ends in "se." • lavarto wash (non-reflexive) • lavarseto wash oneself (reflexive) • rascarto scratch (non-reflexive) • rascarseto scratch oneself (reflexive)
