Academic context Goals describe what our students are expected to accomplish when they complete a course or a program (course or program level goals). Course-level goals (course objectives) are generally more specific than program goals. Students are prepared to achieve the program goals through the coursework in the program. Syed A Rizvi
Academic context (Continued) A program goal is assessed through the assessment of the course objectives linked to that program goal. Linkage between course objectives (course-level goals) and program goals can also be shown in the curriculum map. Or it can be separately listed along with the curriculum map. The linkage between program goals and the courses in that program is shown through curriculum map. Syed A Rizvi
Academic context (Continued) If you have assessed course objectives (course-level assessment), you have, in essence, already done the bulk of the program-level assessment. The only thing left is to link the course-level assessment results to the appropriate program goals and report the results in a form appropriate for program-level assessment. Syed A Rizvi
