  3. 1. Introduce (v): to tell someone another person’s name the first time that they meet. Word Formation : introduction (n) Definition :the action of telling someone another person's name the first time that they meet Collocations : introduce someone to someone Ex: I'd like to introduce my younger son, Steve. Ex:You'have to make the introductions - I don't know everyone's name.

  4. 2. Nickname (n): an informal name for someone or something, especially a name which your friends or family call, usually based on your proper name or your character. Collocations : to call sb by his/her nickname give a nickname to sb Ex: They always use the nickname Beth for their daughter Elizabeth. Ex:Jack’s nickname was lefty, because he was left-handed. Ex:Sheldon was called by his nickname Shelly when he was a child.

  5. 3. Occupation (n): a person's job Word Formation :1.occupational (adj) Definition : relating to or caused by your job Synonyms :job, profession Ex: Her sister’s occupation is dentistry. Ex:Back problems are occupational problems for any desk-bound office worker.

Nationality (n): the official right to belong to a particular country Word Formation :1. nation (n) Definition : a country, thought of as a large group of people living in one area with their own government, language, traditions, etc Word Formation : 2. nationless (adj) Definition : someone who doesn’t have a nationality. Ex: What nationality are you? Ex: You can see people of many nationalities in London. Ex: The Germans, as a nation, are generally well organized.

  7. 5. Birthplace (n): the house, town, etc. wherea person was born Synonyms : father land, mother land, place of origin Ex:Ally is from Canada, but her birthplace is Tokyo.   9. 8. Computer programmer (n):a person whose job is to produce computer programs Word Formation : Computer programming (n) Definition : the activity or job of writing programs for computers. Ex:He works as a computer programmer in a company with a very high salary. Ex:To become a computer programmer, you should have advanced programming knowledge. Graphic designer (n):someone who works in graphic design Word Formation : Graphic design (n) Definition : the art of designing pictures and text for books, magazines, advertising, etc. Ex:As expected, they could not finish the project on time. Interpreter (n):someone whose job is to change what someone else is saying into another language Word Formation : Interpret (v) Definition : To decide what the intended meaning of something is Synonyms: Translator Collocations : Interpret sth as/into Ex:She works as an interpreter in Russia.
