The Financial Mechanism aims to reduce social and economic disparities and to enable all EEA countries to participate fully in the Internal Market. NGO Fund

NGO Fund – Scope and objective The NGO fund is established to ensure participation of civil society organisations in the reduction of economic and social disparities within the EEA (and in this case, in Romania in particular). NGO Fund Objective: to strengthen civil society in Romania by supporting projects under five thematic areas.

NGO Fund Assistance for applicants • Call for proposal launch: July 31, 2008 • 11 information sessions organised at the beginning of September, 2008 in the following locations: Bucureşti, Braşov, Constanţa, Brăila, Oradea, Iaşi, Craiova, Sibiu, Timişoara, Miercurea Ciuc şi Cluj Napoca. • 270 of questions and answers • Permanent phone/ fax/ email assistance until the deadline

  5. NGO Fund – data regarding the projects selection • Number of Evaluation Committees: 7 • Total number of submitted proposals: 415 • Total number of proposals in deadline: 403 • Total number of projects technically and financially evaluated: 318 • Total number of projects financed: 46

NGO Fund – Large grants scheme • 28 projects are financed. • 22projects are implemented in partnership. • 47partners involved in the implementation of the projects: NGOs (25), public authorities/ institutions (14), education institution (8). • The value of the amount awarded varies between 6,706 and 73,395 Euro, for projects having a duration of minimum 10 monthsand maximum 20 months.

  9. Phase 2 – Technical and financial evaluation

NGO Fund Small grants scheme • 18projects are financed. • 16projects are implemented in partnership. • 34partners involved in the implementation of the projects: NGOs (15), autorităţi/ instituţii publice(13), instituţii de învăţământ (6). • The value of the amount awarded varies between 9,900 and 15,000 Euro, for projects having a duration of minimum 6 monthsand maximum 12 months.
