Puppetry museum : the origins 1921 : the history museum was exhibiting a few puppets from the Guignol repertoire 1946-1956 : the first nucleus is completed by some collections given by the National Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions in Paris and from the private Léopold Dor collection 1950 : the “World puppets museum” is opened to the public 2009 : the renovated museum is reopened with 300 puppets, settings, posters and repertoires originating from France, Europe, Asia, Africa

Puppetry : reinventing the museum • Puppetry : art and cultural intangible heritage • This project affirms a strong link with the creation and practices of contemporary puppeteers • Immersive scenography invites visitors to discover the mysteries of a living art.
