Miss Ballantine’s P2 Classroom News WHAT WE ARE LEARNING This term Primary 2s will be starting our ‘Emotions Talks’ topic. This block of learning is based around emotional literacy. We will be learning skills and strategies for managing our emotions and talking about what we are thinking and how we are feeling. We will be considering our own strengths and qualities and identifying those of others. We will be learning about building and managing friendships. This year, our grown up Primary 2s will act as narrators for the Primary 1 Nativities!. The children will be coming home soon with lines to learn and I would really appreciate it if you could help them with this. We are also starting to learn our songs for the nativity and apologise in advance for any that may get stuck in your head following practices at home! This term will also include some learning based around the Christmas story and a look at ‘Christmas Past’. Welcome to the Winter term in P2! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday week. Firstly a huge thank you to everyone for your attendance at our recent parent consultations. We had 100% attendance so fantastic news!P.E. will be on a Wednesday and Thursday this term. Homework jotters will come home on a Monday with language and maths homework for the week. Please ensure your child returns this jotter with their completed homework inside, along with their reading folder, on a Friday. This makes it easier for homework to be marked and new homework added ready for the next week. NOTES UPCOMING EVENTS Wednesday 13th November – Curriculum Evening for Parents 4.00-5.00. Friday 29th November – Trip to the Pantomime. Tuesday 10th December 9.30am – P1B Nativity with P2B narrators. Thursday 12th December 9.30am – P1/2 Nativity with P2B narrators. Tuesday 17th December – P2 Christmas Party! Finally… As the winter weather has now well and truly caught up with us, could I please request that all children are sent to school with a warm outdoor coat and sensible shoes for play times and outdoor learning. As always, any questions, please do not hesitate to get on touch. Miss Ballantine
