  2. How does it work? Primary School last 6 years Boys and girls are schooled separately There is an average of 58 students in each class in primary school. (Encyclopedia of Nations)

  3. How does it work? After primary school, the students take an entrance exam in order to enter secondary school. Secondary School lasts 6 years There is an average of 28 students in each class in secondary school. (Encyclopedia of Nations)

  5. Present School Systems Children are taught in their native language (Persian or Pashto) for the first 3 years of school. (The Education System of Afghanistan) In the fourth grade, they are introduced to Arabic so they can read the Koran (Qur’an). (Encyclopedia of Nations)
